Man City Transfers: 5 Players Manuel Pellegrini Will Bring To The Etihad

3. Gonzalo Higuain

Higuain City do need a new striker (or two) after it was proven that they cannot operate with just the three forwards to success following the departure of Mario Balotelli in January and the clubs failure to replace him. Thanks to injuries to Sergio Aguero and the sometimes poor form of the now-peripheral Edin Dzeko, the Sky Blues have looked toothless up front at times, and if you need any further evidence of that, re-watch the FA Cup Final. City were put on alert recently by news that Real Madrid are prepared to sell Gonzalo Higuain and the Argentinian would link up seamlessly with fellow countrymen Aguero and Carlos Tevez. Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked with the striker, who is worth about £25 million. Higuain has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu and has struggled to break into the side with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema both ahead of him, and the 25-year old could be interested in a move to the Premier League to give himself the best chance of being called up for next summer's World Cup.
