5. Christian Benteke
While admittedly Christian Benteke is not the "marquee signing" Manchester City fans would demand were Sergio Aguero to depart the club, there is little denying the young Belgian has been in inspired form for Aston Villa this season. The 22-year old has been a rare shining light in what has been a dismal campaign for Paul Lambert's relegation-haunted Villa, and his 17 goals in all competitions have helped cement him as one of the division's most prodigious forwards. It is understood Tottenham are leading the chase for his signature but
City have shown an interest, as have Italian giants Inter Milan. With the new Financial Fair Play rules set to come into effect shortly, Benteke would be a more modest signing in the summer window, and a fresh alternative to City's policy of splashing out millions on tried and tested stars. The youngster also has his best years lying in front of him.
