Man City vs Wigan - Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Match Preview

FA Cup Wigan Athletic will be going in search of their first ever FA Cup trophy as they come up against deposed English champions Manchester City under the famous Wembley arch on Saturday evening. And Roberto Martinez will be hoping "the magic of the FA Cup" will wash off on his players as his side aim to become the first club since 1980 to win the competition while ranked 18th place in the top flight. But Roberto Mancini won't care much for romanticism as his City side try to add some gloss to what has been an otherwise disappointing season by winning the only trophy left available to them. In doing so, they would be within touching distance of the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa to have won the famous old trophy seven times and will be hoping it would again spur them on to greater success next season. The last time City won the FA Cup, they followed it up by winning the Premier League the season after, and Mancini will be hoping lightning strikes twice. But Wigan, while clear underdogs, are not to be underestimated and can list Everton as a top flight scalp this season having knocked the Toffees out of the competition en route to the final.
