5. Chelsea Need A Striker

Spain kicked off the trend of playing without a recognised striker in Euro 2012, although rather ironically Fernando Torres still managed to win the Golden Boot for top goalscorer due to the lack of minutes he spent on the pitch compared to others. On Monday night, Jose Mourinho followed suit. With the imminent signing of Willian, joining the likes of Juan Mata, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, Chelsea have plenty of attacking midfielders, but it is clear Mourinho does not rate Torres, Demba Ba or Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku could, in time, develop into a world class striker but those days seem long ago for Torres, while they never were for Ba, who did not make the match day squad. Torres came on at the hour mark but the only impression he made was a abd one. A few lsot balls, miscontrols, and general anonymity is now par for the course for the Spaniard, and he would surely be on the move this summer if only a buyer was crazy enough to want him. The 'Special One' had stated that all he needed was a striker before the signing of Willian from Anzhi, but the Blues are still in the market for a top striker and it would be no surprise if they make another bid for Wayne Rooney.
