Man Utd 1-2 Swansea: FA Cup Player Ratings

Man Utd

Anders Lindegaard: Got something on Routledge's chip, but fault for conceding the opener is squarely at the central defenders' door. Similarly, he could do nothing about the winner. Had little else to do here, but let down badly by the back four in front of him. 5/10. Chris Smalling: Got up from right back well enough, but desperately needs to work on his crossing. Moved infield to centre half for the last 15 minutes due to Ferdinand's injury and did not do well on the near post for Bony's winner. 4/10. Rio Ferdinand: Red Devils stand in skipper failed to cut out Pozuelo's ball to Routledge. Injured in a coming together with Bony and limped off disconsolate. You wonder how many more outings he will have. 4.5/10. Jonny Evans: Caught out for the Swansea opener too. Moyes favours the Northern Irishman and he did keep Bony quiet for long spells until the Ivorian found easier prey. 5/10. Alex Buttner: Best of a bad bunch in the United defence. Put in delicious deliveries from the left in the first half and one of those was the assist for Hernandez's leveller. 5.5/10. Antonio Valencia: Ecuador captain blazed over at 1-1, but that apart kept quiet by Swans left back Taylor. Subbed. 4.5/10. Darren Fletcher: Energetic in midfield and had to drop in at right back when Fabio saw red. His performance is the only substantial positive to come out of this game for Moyes. 5.5/10. Tom Cleverley: Upstaged by Fletcher €“ a player who has spent over a year sidelined. That speaks volumes about Cleverley. A second half free kick hit the wall. That was the only thing of note he did. 3.5/10. Shinji Kagawa: Never provided any real width on the left. Playing narrow, but industry alone does not win games of football. 5/10. Danny Welbeck: An afternoon where nothing really came off this versatile forward. 4.5/10. Javier Hernandez: Poached an equalizer made by Buttner to end his goal drought. Had very little supply otherwise. 5.5/10. Subs: Adnan Januzaj: Talented teenager got half an hour, but rarely saw the ball. 4.5/10. Fabio: Had to come on for the last 15 minutes when Ferdinand got injured. Only on pitch a matter of moments though as Brazilian fullback was sent off for a studs-showing challenge on Canas. 2/10.
