Man Utd: 10 Reasons Louis Van Gaal Is Doomed To Fail

6. Van Gaal€™s Judgement On Players Could Be Impaired By Dutch Involvement

Due to the manager€™s involvement with Holland at the 2014 World Cup, there is a chance that he may favour Dutch players to some extent €“ which may not be in the best interests of Manchester United. For instance, Robin van Persie€™s influence at the club is starting to dwindle after only scoring 12 league goals in an injury wrecked season for the player. Before Van Gaal€™s appointment, most people would say that the striker to put your faith in is Wayne Rooney. This could be in a variety of ways such as the captaincy of the team, and most people would think that van Persie€™s future lies elsewhere. The Dutch striker is now 30 years old and his best years are behind him. United€™s new manager would be best placed in invested in a new young forward, rather than simply relying on van Persie. The same argument applies for the acquisition of new players. For instance, reports have started to emerge that the current Dutch boss is interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer. Nothing against Fer as he is a decent player, but not one with the capabilities to rebuild the Man Utd midfield. With Norwich relegated to the Championship, it would also rather suggest picking up a cheap option rather than going out and getting top talent at the market rate.
