4. Arsenal Really Do Miss Robin Van Persie
Had Robin Van Persie stayed at the Emirates, Arsenal would have been serious contenders for the title. All of the goals that he has scored for the United cause has been nothing short of quality, and the goal scoring conundrum that Arsenal is facing would not have been as dire. Both Gervinho and Giroud are not of world class quality yet, and Wenger is frustratingly reluctant in converting Theo Walcott into a striker. When RVP scored his goal against Arsenal on Saturday, it was a painful reminder of how lackluster our forwards have been this season and what we need in order to become a truly competitive team. As painful as RVP's departure and subsequent betrayal was, the game in a sense vindicated Robin Van Persie's claims that Arsenal did not match his ambitions. Arsenal's ambitions are clearly step below that of Manchester United, and it is impossible for the team to hold onto its most elite talent if the silverware doesn't follow. The next striker to lead the Arsenal offense is clearly Theo Walcott, and Arsene Wenger will be making a huge mistake if he freezes Theo out of the Emirates.
