Man Utd 2-2 Fulham - 5 Things We Learned

Manchester United's season plunged all new depths on Sunday afternoon as they were held by basement side Fulham at Old Trafford. Steve Sidwell and Darren Bent scored either side of two quick-fire Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick goals to stun the champions and leave them off the pace in the race for the top four. United are now nine points adrift of fourth placed Liverpool and if this result doesn't end their hopes of grabbing a Champions League place next season, it at least puts a big dent in them. Yet it could have been worse because up until the 78th minute it looked as though the Red Devils would crash to their ninth league defeat of a truly miserable season so far. But a draw against the topflight's rock-bottom side is still an ignominious result, more so considering the Cottagers had won just two of their last 10 games in all competitions prior. As the dust settles on this latest set-back for United, manager David Moyes is left with a real task on his hands if he is to salvage anything at all from his debut season in charge. But what else did we learn from United's disappointing draw with Fulham at the weekend? Click "Next" to find out.
