Man Utd: 5 Key Areas Where They Need To Improve

3. The Huge Loss Of Chief Executive David Gill

In September 2003, after Peter Kenyon moved to Chelsea, a certain David Gill stepped up to the chief executive role at Old Trafford after many roles previously. He had a huge hand in creating record revenues at the club, as well as aiding the Glazer family takeover back in May 2005. It is undeniable that he, in his ten years as chief executive, had a huge hand in increasing share prices and the finances within the club. After the sudden shock of him leaving in February of last year, I just wonder if this influenced Ferguson's decision to hang up his very expensive shoes. Either way, Gill leaving was a big hit to the clubs revenues and arguably to Ferguson himself.
