Man Utd: 5 Reasons Why Shinji Kagawa Can Be David Moyes' Star Man

The summer transfer window brought about a high level of confusion at Manchester United, with new manager David Moyes' only signing being the hirsute figure of Marouane Fellaini, a player who the club still don't really need nearly four months later. The club were heavily linked with Wesley Sneijder, Ander Herrera and Cesc Fabregas, which just shows how mangled their targets were over the summer. The reason being all these players are completely different midfielders to each other, so there was a dire need for clarity at Old Trafford, with the gap for a creative midfielder being evident but what sort being less clear. The fact that Moyes opted for Fellaini showed that they weren't really certain and were buying for buying sake, with the giant Belgian neither one thing nor the other. What is an even bigger and more confusing surprise however is that the club have just what they need right in their squad in Japanese international Shinji Kagawa. The 24-year-old has all the required skills to make it at United and could easily be the answer to their questions. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, the midfielder started making an impression towards the end of his first season at the club, then in this campaign under Moyes he has only made five starts in the Premier League. The talent is there, but unlocking seems a problem for United's new boss, but if he realises the Japanese star's potential, he can tick off several niggling doubts that the club have suffered so far this season. As a result, here are the ways Kagawa can prove to be extremely useful to Moyes over the coming months.
