1. Importance to Man United
Nani has been a constant figure in United squads since his breakout in 2007/2008. In fact, no player has more premier league assists since 2009 than the winger; a testament to his perhaps overlooked contribution. As much as Young scored goals at Aston Villa and Valencia has scored the odd one, Nani is a constant threat around the opposition goal whenever he plays. In Nani, United have a very creative and menacing player who can win a game on his own. This quality is hard to come by and I can't imagine Sir Alex wanting to lose it to a potential rival. With over 100 EPL appearances to his name too, Nani has the experience of winning titles. This makes him an immensely important player for United, and one of the stalwarts of their current squad. This is perhaps the key reason why Sir Alex will keep the young Portuguese maestro.
