Man Utd: Celebrating Ryan Giggs' 23 Greatest Goals On His 40th Birthday

As Ryan Giggs turns 40 today, the Manchester United and Wales legend can look back on a career that has been seconded by none. Since making his debut against Everton on 2 March 1991, the midfielder has played more than 1,000 games and scored over 150 goals in a career that has spanned an unprecedented 23 seasons. In that time, he has netted more goals for the Red Devils than Mark Hughes, Paul Scholes and Cristiano Ronaldo, and recently became United's all-time record appearance holder. An amazing set of statistics for a truly amazing individual, the like of which we will never see again. What makes Giggs such an inspirational character is that, having been trotting out at Old Trafford for the past 23 years, he is still capable of performing in the big games. Against Leverkusen in the Champions League midweek, he pulled all the strings from midfield, running over 10,000 meters to truly defy the years, leaving teammate Wayne Rooney stumped as to how he's still even playing. And, having won 13 Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League twice, his appetite for success remains as insatiable as ever, saying recently that he has no plans to retire. To celebrate the remarkable man, and his 23 full seasons at Old Trafford, here, we take a look back at his 23 greatest goals.
