Man Utd Next Manager: 5 Replacements For Sir Alex Ferguson

4. Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs only recently signed a new one-year deal to continue playing in United's midfield into his forties, but could he backtrack on that decision and retire from the game himself in order to take over from Ferguson as manager? There's little doubting that Ferguson's presence at United influenced Giggs' decision to sign on for one more year, but with the Scotsman no longer in charge, it isn't inconceivable that he could perform a U-turn and hang his boots up in favour of stepping into the dugout. Former Old Trafford teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently suggested that Giggs wants to replace Fergie as manager of United. "He€™s looking at that United job for himself, Giggsy. He€™s got top potential," predicted Solskjaer, 40.
"Giggsy is going to play another year, but I€™d say he€™s got his eyes and ears open more to what the manager is doing. You have to dream big €“ if you don€™t dream big, you won€™t make it. So let€™s just wait and see what happens."
Giggs became the first man to complete his UEFA Pro Licence during his playing days recently, and has worked through his UEFA Pro 'B' and 'A' Licences and is expected to now turn his attention to the final coaching badge he needs to be a Premier League and Champions League boss.
