Man Utd Transfer News: £65 Million Bid For Cristiano Ronaldo Prepared
The Sun, Manchester United are preparing to offer a £65 million bid (plus a player) for former player Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid ace has apparently rejected a contract extension with the Spanish side and Manchester United are convinced they can take advantage of the situation and reunite one of the club's greatest ever players back with the club where he became a global superstar. Ronaldo, 28, left Old Trafford in 2009 for a world record-breaking fee of £80 million and despite the winger having two-years left on his current deal in Spain, Madrid must now try and either encourage Ronaldo to extend his stay or discuss selling the player for fear of losing power at the negotiation table as he could leave on a free in two years time, or see his value dramatically decreased in twelve months. All the rumours seem to point to Ronaldo leaving Spain, with the player having reportedly put his Spanish house up for sale and showing interest in coming back to Old Trafford. Madrids number 7 has scored 34 goals in 34 La Liga games as well as 12 in 12 in the UEFA Champions League this season. Though he was left out of Madrid's final game of the season after an apparent fallout with departing manager Jose Mourinho. With Real Madrid rumoured to be interested in Liverpools Luis Suarez as well as Tottenhams Gareth Bale a fee which could reach over £100 million, Madrid could sell Ronaldo back to Manchester United in hopes of recuperating a chunk of their summer investment. Ronaldo won the Premier League title on three occasions with The Red Devils as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2008, but with just one La Liga title at Madrid and no European success, Ronaldo hasnt always found it easy at the club. Whilst funding the deal might be a problem for the Premier League champions it is believed that Nike are also in on the deal.
