Man Utd Transfer News: Anderson Can Go For £8 Million

Manchester United manager David Moyes has told Anderson he is free to leave, if a rival club meets his £8 million price tag in the New Year, according to the Daily Star. The midfielder is no longer part of Moyes's plans and will be sold in the January transfer window, with Old Trafford bosses desperate to get the 25-year-old off the wage bill. The Brazilian has made just two league starts this season and four in total having found himself out of favour and down in the pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams. A club source said:
"Anderson isn't up to the standards required. He just hasn't fulfiled his potential. If someone makes a decent bid for him in January he will be sold."
His departure would free up his £60,000-a-week wages and allow Moyes to target a world class midfielder either in the next transfer window or in the summer. Since joining the Red Devils from Porto in 2007 for £27 million, Anderson has only rarely looked like living up to his potential. Billed at the time as one of the brightest young stars in Europe and tipped to be a huge success, he has managed just nine goals from 174 appearances. A string of injuries, inconsistent form and reportedly-poor attitude off the field can be attributed to Anderson's underwhelming stint in Manchester.
