Man Utd Transfer News: Antonio Valencia To Galatasaray For £12.5 Million?

Express. Reports suggest the winger is among a number of targets being considered by the former Manchester City manager, who succeeded from Fatih Terim last month. According to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik, Mancini is hopeful the Ecuadorian midfielder can be persuaded to leave Old Trafford having fallen down the pecking order under new manager David Moyes. The paper goes on to suggest that the recent form of rookie Adnan Januzaj will make first team appearances even more difficult to come by for Valencia, who hasn't started a game since last month's Manchester derby. It is thought the Turkish giants are prepared to offer United £12.5 million for the wide-man, and are also prepared to offer the player £3.5 million-a-year in wages. However, Mancini - who spent four years at City and knows all about Valencia - could find competition in the form of Everton, who are also interested in the 28-year-old. It is thought the Toffee's will demand Valencia be included as part of any deal should United return in January with a fresh offer for left-back Leighton Baines. There is also the added complication where Galatasaray are concerned in that Turkish Football Federation rules limits its members to no more than 10 foreign players. That means Mancini would have to sell before he can buy.
