Man Utd Transfer News: Lucas Moura Having Medical Today, £30 Million Deal Agreed
Manchester United have finally agreed a deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Moura for £30 million and his medical will take place today.
The Daily Mail claims that Manchester United have finally agreed a deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Moura for £30 million and his medical will take place today. Sir Alex Ferguson allegedly stayed behind to finalise the deal whilst his team headed for the friendly in Norway for their match against Valerenga. Lucas Moura had previously stated that he intended to reveal whether he would sign for United after the Olympic games, and despite Brazil still being in the competition he travelled away from the national squad after their match at Newcastle's St. James' Park against Honduras (where Moura started on the bench) and headed for Old Trafford. Manchester United have been chasing the 19-year-old all summer, and whilst rumours have been back and forth regarding the deal it looks set to end today. The Mail article does also reference the fact United are going to bid an extra £20 million to land Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie as Fergie has been given the go-ahead to spend £50 million on signing both superstars in an attempt to keep up with the big spending Manchester City. Manchester United will hope the influx of some of the World's highly praised talents will increase their chances next season as they battle to regain the Premier League title and fare better in the Champions League.
