Monaco may be in the second tier of French football but they are set for a return with themselves 13 points clear of the team outside the promotion places. Monaco are also backed by Dmitry Rybolovlev a mega rich Russian thought to be in the top #100 richest men in the world. Monacos ambitions are thought to be similar to those of PSG, hoping to dominate French football and then Europe and Rooney is still a big name around Europe and will attract fans and sponsorship to the club, but whats in it for Rooney? Monaco is a tax haven for the mega rich, with 0% taxis so Rooneys wealth could only grow and grow. Also Monaco is a highly fashionable area so Mrs Rooney could push him in that direction. Whether Rooney leaves United at all remains to be seen but with clubs like PSG, Bayern Munich and Monaco continuing to be linked we could be in for an interesting summer.
