Man Utd Transfer News: Monaco To Bid £20 Million For Nani

Sunday Mirror, big-spenders AS Monaco are preparing to make a £20 million bid for unwanted Manchester United winger, Nani. Nani, 26, has found himself stuck on the sidelines for the majority of this season and has only made a handful of Premier League appearances this season for the English champions. Nani signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 but ever since he arrived he has been stuck in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo, causing many United fans to become frustrated at his lack of desire on the pitch. The Portuguese winger has been linked with a £15 million move to London-based club Arsenal but a bid of £20 million from Ligue 1 side Monaco is set to hijack any deal between Arsenal and United. It is believed that new manager David Moyes, who is to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson, already has £60 million to splash on his new United side in hopes of securing United€™s 21st league title and if the club manage to offload Nani that figure could rise to £80 million. A £20 million transfer to Monaco would mean the newly promoted side would have spent just shy of £140 million. The club have announced the signing of Radamel Falcao for £50 million as well as a £60 million swoop for James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho If United do manage to offload Nani the potential transfers of the likes of Gareth Bale and Robert Lewandowski could well come to fruition.
