Man Utd Transfer News: Nani & Valencia In Wesley Sneijder Swap Deal?

Manchester United manager David Moyes may use Nani and Antonio Valencia as bait in his efforts to sign Galatsaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder, according to the Express. Reports in Turkey suggest United will return for Sneijder in January having missed out with a £6 million summer bid, the former Real Madrid star instead opting to leave Inter Milan for Gala. It is thought the defending English champions were willing to test the Turkish giant's resolve to hang on to the Netherlands international with a £12 million January offer. But it is now understood United are more interested in a player-swap deal rather than a straight-cash bid. Both Nani and Valencia have failed to impress at Old Trafford this season, the latter of whom has only completed a full 90 minutes of Premier League football once all season. And now, both may be used in another bid to land long-term target Sneijder, who has also attracted the interest of Chelsea and his former Inter boss Jose Mourinho. Galatasaray's new transfer policy sees them trying to become younger and more home-grown, which could put the 29-year-old Sneijder in a perilous situation. Gala also need to offload at least one foreign player in the next window if they are to buy another one, as they've reached the limit of overseas-born players allowed in their squad under Turkish Football Federation rules. However, it appears as though United have some work to do if they are to convince the attacker to make what would be one final career move to England. Sneijder said recently:
"I'm going nowhere, you're going to keep seeing me in a red and yellow shirt."
