Man Utd Transfer News: Wayne Rooney To Be Sold For Cristiano Ronaldo?
Daily Star, Manchester United are preparing to offer Wayne Rooney to clubs in hopes of freeing up funds for a deal to sign former star Cristiano Ronaldo. Rooney has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford ever since handing his second transfer request in the last three years. Ronaldo on the other hand has been rumoured to be joining Manchester United and David Moyes intends to to kill two birds with one stone. The new Red Devils' boss is set to hold talks with 27-year-old striker Rooney in the hopes he can persuade him to stay at the club but if negotiations prove unsuccessful, Rooney would likely be shipped out this summer. It is believed that Jose Mourinhos Chelsea would be the Englishmans preference should he leave the Premier League champions. United are willing to offer unhappy Rooney to the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal for a fee of £30 million, if the situation isn't resolved. The Red Devils will then use that money towards a £60 million bid for former star Cristiano Ronaldo in hopes they can lure the world-class winger back to Old Trafford. Ronaldo has already denied signing a new contract at Real Madrid and with the winger putting his Spanish villa up for sale as well as Old Trafford not printing Valencia number 7 shirt next season, there are definite hints that a move for Ronaldo could be made.
