Man Utd Transfer News: Wilfried Zaha £8 Million Offer Rejected
Crystal Palace will reject an £8million bid from Man Utd for winger Wilfried Zaha.
Daily Mail. The 20 year old is keen to make the step up to the Premier League in January, with Arsenal competing with the Red Devils for his signature. Palace Chairman Steve Parish insists they will not sell the player for anything less than £20 million, but an offer of half that might be enough to persuade the club to sell. The player himself, who is eligible to play for both the Ivory Coast and England, told the Daily Mail that he believes he is ready to make the transition from Championship to Premier League football. He said:
"Im not a teenager any more. Ive played more than 100 first-team games and this year is crucial to develop my football career. I want to establish myself in the Premier League and in international football. "Ive played a lot in the Championship so having that new challenge in the Premier League, where everyone wants to be, would be great. To be honest, if I had the chance in January and Palace agreed, its something Id want to go for."Zaha is an Arsenal fan, and Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen to add to his midfield in January with winger Theo Walcott set to take on a more advance role up front. He has been in the market for a new winger and suffered a setback in his pursuit for Nani from Manchester United last week, and may now turn his attentions to the 20-year old. Predictably, Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway insists Zaha should concentrate on improving his game at his current club rather than eyeing up a move elsewhere. The former Blackpool manager said:
"Playing for England. So what? Its four minutes. I dont want to sound funny but Im more concerned about us working with him and getting him playing how he was a couple of weeks ago. Thats all I worry about."
