Man Utd Transfers: 10 Deals That Should Happen In January

2. Anderson OUT

Most Brazilians tend to bring a wealth of flamboyance and skill to a side, but Anderson, a box-to-box midfielder who looked a promising talent when he signed for Manchester United in 2007, has failed to make any mark since arriving from Portugal. The 26-year-old never looked capable of becoming a first-team player under Sir Alex Ferguson largely due to a string of injuries, including one inflicted by a serious car accident in 2010. When the Scot retired and was replaced by David Moyes, Anderson blew his chance to start fresh and fell out with his new manager before being forced out on-loan to Fiorentina, where he again failed to impress. With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2015, Anderson will almost certainly leave Old Trafford next year after his latest boss, Louis van Gaal, publicly criticised his fitness levels.
"I can€™t pick him now because you have to be fit. For the first three months the culture of a trainer is fitness. That is the smallest thing you can demand. Professional league fitness,€ the Dutchman said. "Fitness is the most important thing. First you have to show your fitness. Not for just one day but for several weeks.€
The door is already half open for the Brazilian. However, with his current expiring in a matter of months, clubs are likely to wait until he€™s a free agent before making a swoop rather than unnecessarily coughing up cash. Probability: 8/10
