Man Utd Transfers: 10 Midfield Alternatives To Arturo Vidal
9. Sami Khedira
With Real Madrid seemingly open to selling German midfielder Sami Khedira, it's a wonder why Manchester United have not yet joined Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the chase to take the World Cup winner away from the Bernabeu. Real have just added Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez to their midfield ranks, and with the likes of Xabi Alonso, Asier Illaramendi and Luka Modric all competing for spots in the first team, Khedira could be the man to depart from the ten time European Champions. Khedira is out of contract next summer, and with both London clubs leading the chase to sign him for a fee of around £23 million, the former Stuttgart man offers an youthful yet experienced option for a relatively small price in today's transfer market. Having rejected a new deal with Real Madrid in the last few months, his club are likely to let him go in 2014 to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer. Khedira has proven he is fully recovered from the cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for a large chunk of last season, returning to take up a pivotal role in Real's Champions League triumph over rivals Atletico Madrid and Germany's successful World Cup campaign. Back to his best, Khedira could do a great job for United too.
