6. Erik Lamela (In)
Another AS Roma star who has been grabbing all the recent headlines this season is the young Argentine, formerly of River Plate. His lightening quick pace and his eye for goal would be an asset for any top team, and he has attracted a lot of high profile attention, including United, already according to
the Express. This begs the question, however, of whether United really need him or not: RVP has been a revelation, Rooney is still the best English player in recent history along with Lampard and Gerard, Chicharito continues to perform in similar fashion to a young Michael Owen and Danny Welbeck's performances seem to be getting stronger and more consistent with each passing game.
How likely is this transfer? 20%: A pre-RVP Man Utd would have been in the hunt for a player of Lamela's ability at the rumoured plus £30 million price point (according to the Express), but now it just seems less than likely considering Sir Alex's current options upfront.
