At the tender age of only 18, the youngster could be seen as an interesting long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand, and his rise to the top in Serie A has brought about an excitement in the footballing world similar to that of Real Madrid's Raphael Varane. With Man Utd having missed out on the signing of Varane a couple of years ago (according to
Express Sport) they would be loath to let another central defensive starlet slip through their grasp yet again.
How likely is this transfer? 40%. The low percentage is simply due to the hefty price-tag that Roma would demand in exchange for his services, given his age and his high standing. Perhaps there is more chance of the teen superstar making the move to Spain with Barcelona believed to be extremely keen for players who could sure up their leaky defense as well as add to their attacking flair from the back, similar to the Gerard Pique of a couple of years ago.
