Club: Newcastle United Position: Striker Value: £7.5m As a cheap option to supplement the United attack, there are few options as capable or as experienced in the Premier League as Newcastle's Senegalese hitman, who has started this season in the same vein as he did last year, scoring some impressive goals and linking up well with the Magpies' midfield. With his contract release clause set to reopen for the January transfer window - unless Newcastle tie him down to a new contract in the meantime - Ba could be available for as little as £7.5m, provided Sir Alex would be willing to take the chance on his notoriously dodgy knee. The trouble for any deal involving Ba is his apparent inability to make it through a medical, but if United are willing to take the risk on the insurance, Ba could help fire in the invaluable goals that could help them reclaim the title from City.
