8. Angel Di Maria
Club: Real Madrid Position: Winger Value: £35m The most expensive name on this list, and one whose current club would probably require some serious convincing to part with him, Argentinian winger Angel Di Maria has been linked with a move to United since as far back as when he was still with Benfica, and with the player putting the inconsistencies of the early part of last season behind him, he would represent the kind of top-level experienced winger that Sir Alex needs to replace Nani, now that the Portuguese player has dropped out of favour. He would come in at close to £40m, but for that United would get a pacey and direct midfielder well capable of scoring goals as well as providing the kind of assists that United haven't seen since David Beckham left, and which striker Robin Van Persie would lap up. The Argentinian is also said to be a fan of United, as he told the News of the World back in 2009, which could work in the club's favour if they were to make a move for him:
