Man Utd Transfers: 10 Players Sir Alex Must Sign In January

9. Marouane Fellaini

Club: Everton Position: Centre-midfield Value: £30m Another of the stand-out performers in Everton's charge through the early season, the Belgian has been a revelation in Blue since the first day, and almost single-handedly masterminded Everton's victory over the Premier League runners-up at the start of this term. He is a dynamic midfielder, offering as much defensively as he does in attack, and he is easily one of the most comfortable players in the Premier League with the ball at his feet. Strong, capable of controlling even the most difficult of placed passes (including with his chest - a skill he excels at) and most importantly able to chip in with goals, Fellaini is something of a complete midfielder. With rumours that the Belgian is looking to move on after four years at Everton - and fluctuating success on Merseyside - and United still looking to replace Paul Scholes and introduce a fulcrum type player to dictate play in the middle of the park and link up with attacking players, Fellaini would seem the perfect fit at United. He wouldn't come cheap, having signed for £15m back in 2008, and Everton could reasonably expect to get close to double that for their prize asset, especially with his experiences, and it will depend on who Fellaini wants to play for when the window opens, rather than who will be interested in, with most of the top clubs in Europe sure to express some interest in him.
