Man Utd Transfers: 10 Talented Players Who Utterly Failed At Old Trafford
2. Nani
The tricky Portuguese winger occasionally justified his monumental £17million pricetag, but sketchy form and inconsistent performances has cause him to become a United flop. He arrived from Porto in 2007 to join compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford full of hope that he could emulate his teammate's performances in a Manchester United shirt. Nani had a decent couple of seasons for United to begin with, but that all fell through when Ronaldo left, and the weight of expectation fell with a large thud upon the bit-part midfielder's shoulders. Again, he sometimes showed glimpses of exceptional talent, but these became rare, which is unnacceptable at Manchester United. He often loses the ball and shoots from unfathomable distances, and his dribbling skills have declined incredibly. He signed a new contract last year, but he may not be a United player much longer with speculation of a move away from the club, with Premier League rivals Arsenal thought to be interested and Louis Van Gaal deeming him surplus to requirements. Nani threatened to become one of the best wingers in world football, but his talent never came to fruition.
