For many Manchester United fans, the departure of Paul Pogba cannot come quick enough as they’d rather free up their wage bill and have a potential £100 million+ added to the club’s transfer budget than have another season of Pogba picking and choosing when he can be bothered to put in a performance.

Whether Pogba does leave the Red Devils this summer or not, United’s midfield is still in need of reshaping. With Marouane Fellaini’s January move to China, Ander Herrera’s recent switch to PSG, and the potential of Pogba heading to Real Madrid or Juventus, the midfield ranks are in desperate need of new faces and new energy. And one player who could certainly bring some energy to the team is Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

It’s well known that Atletico are looking to try and raise transfer funds, and it seems a strange summer of change for Diego Simeone’s men as several exits have already happened or are expected to happen. 24-year-old box-to-box player Saul would be available should United decide to go in for the technically-gifted midfielder, although Saul’s release clause of €150 million may prove to be a stumbling block to any potential move happening.
