Man Utd Transfers: 11 Signings Ole Solskjaer Must Make Immediately
7. Nikola Milenkovic - Fiorentina
Linked with a move to Old Trafford just this past January, now might be the right time for Manchester United to make a bid for Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.
The 21-year-old Serbian stopper has been regularly compared to all-time United great Nemanja Vidic, and the centre-back ticks a whole lot of boxes that see him fit in nicely with the Red Devils’ current transfer policy. It’s no secret that United are ideally looking to sign promising young talent who can become part of an ongoing project to bring the glory days back to the red half of Manchester for years to come. With his young age and extremely bright future, Milenkovic clearly fits the bill.
A price tag of £45 million was placed on the defender in the previous transfer window, and that would likely still be the cost should United return to firm up their interest in the Serb. And given that poor Victor Lindelof is looking like lining up alongside either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling at present, centre-half is clearly a priority position that the Old Trafford brass need to addresses as a matter of urgency.
