2. Hector Herrera
Another area of the pitch in need of reinforcement is central midfield. With Paul Scholes retired and Ryan Giggs not that far away either, coupled with the doubts over the futures of Nani, Anderson and the illness-stricken Darren Fletcher, it is quite apparent David Moyes needs to address his engine room. The club have been repeatedly linked with a move for Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas but the Spaniard has
ruled himself out of a return to the Premier League and said move appears unlikely at best. One player who United could realistically sign however is Hector Perrera, who is currently contesting the Confederations Cup with Mexico. The central midfielder has been linked with a move to United and has always spoken positively about the Premier League champions, even admitting
he want's to play for them. He said:
"Obviously Id like to play in a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona, but one is aware of the football they play and the truth is Id like to play in Manchester United or any other large team in those where I know that I am going to be playing.
And he could forge a very intriguing partnership with fellow coutnryman Javier Hernandez if United can land his signature.
