"on the verge" of signing the Eindhoven man earlier this month and Sky Sports even suspended betting on the 23-year-old's 'next club' at one stage, amid the massive speculation that the player could be heading to the Theatre of Dreams. Though a deal for the £17 million-valued Dutch international has yet to be struck, it is enough to create excitement within United's fan base considering the club have long-needed a creative, offensive midfielder. He's also only 23 and the club have a policy of signing young talent and turning them into superstars, and Strootman could become just the latest youngster to make a name for himself at Old Trafford.
