Man Utd Transfers: 5 Alternatives For Juan Mata

5. Wesley Sneijder

Could Manchester United finally land long-term midfield target Wesley Sneijder this month? United have long been linked with the Netherlands international and came close to landing his services back in 2011 under the Sir Alex Ferguson era. And now, Sneijder is reportedly prepared to take a £1 million-a-year pay cut to ensure he finally secures his long-winded move to Old Trafford. The attacking midfielder is said to be frustrated with life at current club Galatasaray and is hoping to make a £10 million switch to United this month. The 29-year-old has concerns about not playing top level football ahead of this summer's World Cup and a move to the champions would certainly boost his selection hopes. The playmaker would also drastically improve United's languishing midfield and £10 million represents one of the cheaper options available to David Moyes. At 29, however, you wonder if he is really the long-term solution to the Red Devil's woes.
