Man Utd Transfers: 5 Areas Moyes Must Strengthen In January

Despite emerging victorious at the weekend against Arsenal, Manchester United still have a lot of work to do to bring their squad up to scratch, with several positions looking distinctly and uncharacteristically short. Currently sitting in fifth place in the league table, still five points behind the Gunners poses questions all over the squad, and more importantly, where Moyes will need to strengthen in the coming months. Having brought in just one player in the summer, Everton's Marouane Fellaini, but being linked with several more, Moyes seemed to have failed to attract the big names to the club just when he needed them, an issue which has shown itself to become a bigger problem as the season has progressed. Not only did United lose Sir Alex Ferguson this season, they also lost the linchpin who could attract star names, with players all over the world keen to play under his tutelage. Even rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the club stopped dead in their tracks when it emerged that Moyes was to take over at Old Trafford, and the former Everton boss found it hard to bring players in, and in the end simply ran out of time. So, having had more time than anyone to look into his squad, Moyes should now be fully aware where his team needs to be strengthened in January, but just to give him a helping hand, here are the five main areas.
