Man Utd Transfers: 5 Best & 5 Worst Ever January Deals

3. Zoran Tosic

Zoran Tosic The story of Zoran Tosic is a sorry one for United, not least because in a different league he has actually proven to be a talented individual - but the pace and strength of the Premier League meant his short time at United was a disappointing one. He was purchased along with Serbian counterpart Adem Llajic for around £16.3 million, though Llajic's deal was ultimately cancelled before he actually managed to sign, which could be down to the let down that the Tosic deal turned out to be. Tosic was mainly utilised in reserve games and the odd substitution appearance (just five in total), and was eventually shipped out on loan to Cologne of Germany. The second half of the 2009/10 season he spent at Cologne was successful, however, with the winger scoring an decent 5 goals in 13 games - but by now United weren't interested and thought it best to allow him to leave permanently, this time to Russian side CSKA Moscow.
