Vasco defender Dede has cooled off in the past 12 months, but there's enough there to suggest he's worth a blockbuster fee. It wasn't so long ago that he shut down Neymar
with ease when his side met Santos, leading manager Muricy Ramalho to admit he'd never seen such a display against his star forward. Dede will want assured playing time in order to force his way into Luiz Felipe Scolari's 2014 World Cup plans so this transfer might be better off in the summer, and Fergie should take the plunge if he's available. There aren't many who can combine his size and skill to such an effect.
Likelihood? Sir Alex Ferguson scouts the Brasileiro Serie A regularly and plunders for talent. He won't be bothered by any notion that Dede's production has stalledthat didn't stop him from giving Gabriel Obertan a whirland the Brazilian's speed and size will be a plus point. With the likes of Mats Hummels locked up, this is a brilliant avenue toward securing a potentially world-class talent.
