Ander Herrera was at the centre of one of the summer's more bizarre transfer rumours. On Transfer Deadline Day, news broke that United were on the verge of signing the Athletic Bilbao midfielder for a fee of around £30.5 million and that lawyers representing the champions were in Bilbao completing paperwork to push the deal through. The only problem was, these lawyers
did not represent the Red Devils in any way, shape or form, and the move ultimately collapsed amid sensational claims of fraudulent activity. Herrera is considered one of Spain's brightest young talents and an exciting prospect for the future, while United
are thought to be preparing a fresh bid for the starlet in January. The release clause in his contract is around £31 million, however.
