Manchester United are plotting a £30 million January move for Christian Benteke, according to the Express. David Moyes had realised back in September that he needed to enter the market for a new striker when relations with Robin van Persie first frosted over. And, having only brought former Everton player Marouane Fellaini to the club on transfer deadline day this summer, he has eyed up his Belgian international teammate Benteke. Benteke was a revelation last season as he made his debut in the Premier League, netting 19 goals in the topflight and 23 from 40 overall appearances for Aston Villa. He arrived for a paltry £7 million and is set to cost £30 million now that he has penned a new contract at the Midlands club, but could be interested in a move to Old Trafford in order to challenge for titles.
