United have been linked with several Holland stars over the past few months, one of which is Daley Blind. Blind has been a virtual ever-present during the Netherlands's run to the World Cup semi-finals, starting all six of his country's games so far. He has impressed in Brazil, too, showing his combative nature by winning 67% of his headed duels, according to Squawka Stats, while he gets forward in a similar way Evra does, and has even provided three assists. Van Gaal is known to be a big fan of Blind, due to his ability to fit into his favoured 5-3-2/3-5-2 systems that rely on wing-backs, and United have been tipped to make a bid this summer should they lose Evra. Blind has been at current club Ajax his entire career but, having spent the last six years at Amsterdam, may be looking for a fresh challenge next season.
