Man Utd Transfers: 5 Midfield Alternatives For Cesc Fabregas

2. Marouane Fellaini

Everton's powerful midfield enforcer Marouane Fellaini has been touted with a move to Arsenal as well as United with both Premier League heavyweights embroiled in a tug-of-war with the in-demand Belgian international. The 25-year old has a much-publicised £24 million release clause in his Everton contract which both clubs are willing to activate, and Moyes would surely relish the prospect of being reunited with his one-time star player at Old Trafford in the summer. United have badly lacked a box-to-box midfielder ever since Roy Keane left the club and there are few better in the division than Fellaini, who can operate in both defensive and offensive roles. But the Toffee's, who are still hurting by the fact they've already lost their manager to United, would surely be far from reciprocal in allowing them their star performer also, who has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea.
