1. Kevin Strootman
Of all five potential midfield summer signings David Moyes could make, the most likely of them appears to be Kevin Strootman of PSV Eindhoven, who is widely expected to become the 50-year old Scotsman's
first big signing as United boss. Strootman
made a name for himself in last season's Europa League, in which he established himself as the competitions most effective tacklers making an average of 7.7 successful challenges per game and last week Sky Bet suspended betting for his next club when it became apparent United was his most likely next destination. The Dutch international has drawn comparisons with Michael Carrick and both possess a similar talent for picking out the right passes and executing them. Strootman is usually deployed as a box-to-box midfielder but, endowed with vision and accuracy, has also been known to operate as a creative playmaker too. He's flexible enough to play both roles however which would provide David Moyes with ample midfield options next season should he land his signature.
