Man Utd Transfers: 5 Midfield Alternatives For Paul Pogba

Manchester United have been knocked back in their pursuit of Paul Pogba after it was revealed the Juventus midfielder has no intentions of returning to Old Trafford, write the Independent. United had been hoping to re-sign their former star, whom they let go under the Sir Alex Ferguson era 18 months ago when his contract ran out. New manager David Moyes is struggling with something of a midfield crisis at present, with a lack of fitness and form leaving him with a weakened engine room. Pogba would have been an ideal solution to his problems, considering the starlet has adapted so well to Italian football in Serie A, but hopes of him returning to United appear dashed. The Frenchman is thought to harbour resentment that the current English champions did not show faith in him and would prefer to stay in Italy than move back to England. And that now leaves Moyes with little alternative but to cast his net in other waters as he attempts to turn the Red Devil's season around this month. The Scot cannot afford another transfer window of inactivity following last summer's disappointments and has to bring someone in this winter to seriously entertain top four hopes. And, with it looking less likely that someone will be Pogba, here, we take a look at 5 alternatives. Click "Next" to get started.
