4. Anderson
Another weak link in United's central midfield, Anderson has never quite found his feet since a pricey move from Porto in 2007, believed to be around
£17 million. Anderson was only 19 when he moved to United and was seen as the next big Brazilian export. Not long after his move he showcased exceptional abilities at the under-17 World Cup, where he won the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player. Under the guidance of Ferguson what could possibly go wrong? For one reason or another Anderson has never fulfilled his undoubted potential. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly where it has gone wrong but a number of factors mean that at 26, many believe he will never be the player he could have been. He has had countless injuries, been played out of position and has often looked overweight when given a run in the team. A frustrating player, he can often display sublime skill one minute before giving the ball away hopelessly the next. Quite simply he is not reliable and after six seasons at the club he has had more than enough time to prove himself. Moyes clearly does not trust Anderson and he has been limited to two starts this season. In a revamped squad he must surely be one of the first players to be shown the exit door. His contract is due to expire in just over a year and with Porto reportedly interested in re-signing him, United should be jumping at the chance to offload the much maligned midfielder.
Fact about the Flop: Anderson didn't score his first goal for United until his third season at the club. He joined as a highly rated attacking midfielder. In 6 seasons he has scored 10 goals...slow burner.
