5. Cheick Tiote
Again another defensive midfielder, Cheick Tiote has cultivated quite a reputation for himself after just two seasons in English football. His time at Newcastle has proven two things: he understands the English way of playing, and he is more than capable of handling the physical aspect of the game. If MVila or Fellaini were unavailable, United would not be getting an inferior player, In fact they may be getting a more constant and dependable one. At 26, the Ivorian international has demonstrated proven quality and experience, and undoubtedly dominated Sir Alexs men more than any other player when they faced Newcastle last season. Admittedly, the transfer of Tiote is probably the most unlikely out of all of these deals, as the player will more than likely be on duty with his Ivory Coast team mates at the Africa Cup of Nations when the January transfer window opens. But this is football after all, and stranger things have happened. So there you have it. Those are the 5 players that I think Manchester United should try and buy in January. Do you agree with me? Or do you think Im completely missing the mark?
