2. He Will Finally Escape Messis Shadow
When Ronaldo was at Manchester United, he won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2006-7, the PFA Players Player of the Year and PFA Fans Player of the Year in 2006-07 and 2007-8, as well as the Ballon dOr and FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008. Ronaldos long list of personal achievements started to fizzle out once he joined Real Madrid. Since his arrival Ronaldo has missed out on the Ballon dOr despite several consecutive seasons at the top of his game. A move to Manchester United would not only allow him to dominate the Premier League but it would also remove Ronaldo from the shadow of Barcelonas Lionel Messi. Like it or not Barcelonas number ten is seen as the worlds best player and with Ronaldo being in La Liga with Messi, Ronaldo is often overlooked. In the seasons 2007-8 Ronaldo dominated English and European football scoring 43 goals in 47 club games for The Red Devils whilst Messi netted
20 in 36 club games. Whilst Messi may have improved significantly as a player since then, Ronaldo could benefit from removing himself from La Liga and accept the praises in English football.
