Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why David de Gea Should Be Replaced

2. Ferguson Needs A Consistent Goalkeeper

This season Sir Alex Ferguson has rotated his goalkeepers more times than at any other stage of his managerial tenure at Old Trafford. United's number 2 Anders Lindegaard has been given the nod on a few occasions and has put in a few good performances for the side, though de Gea has since ousted him to retain the No. 1 jersey. Still, there is a growing concern that United need a goalkeeper who can be trusted week in, week out, like Asmir Begovic, who has played every single one of Stoke City's Premier League games this season. There have been reports that some United players prefer playing in front of Lindegaard, however, the Dane has not played for United since conceding three goals in 23 minutes in a crazy league game at Reading at the start of December, which has cast doubts over his future, too. If neither of United's two main goalkeepers can be relied upon, then Ferguson needs to buy someone with more consistency. Source(s): Daily Mail
