Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Wesley Sneijder Snub Was Right

2. Form

wessneidjer2 Wesley Sneijder hit his peak form in 2010 with sensational performances for both Inter Milan and the Netherlands. 2010 was a great year for Wesley as he helped that Inter side to a treble including the Champions League, and almost tasting World Cup glory by reaching the final. It was during this time when we saw the Dutchman do some incredible things, but since then he has not reached those dizzying heights. Sneijder is still capable of some unbelievable things because of the inherent talent he possesses, but it is consistency that has plagued him. The number 10 can get lost in games, and may not have the strength to fight against the more physical defenders he will encounter in the Premiership. Sneijder only lasted two years at Real Madrid, and maybe this was a foreshadowing that he could not consistently be at his mercurial best. In the past two seasons Sneijder has not scored or assisted as many goals as he did in 2010. So although an extremely talented player, Sneijder would have to be consistently at his best to compete at Manchester United.
