Man Utd Transfers: 5 Signings To Ensure Continued Success Under David Moyes

3. Victor Wanyama

Victor Wanyama

Victor Wanyama is unique in that he was at some point or other wanted by both Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes this season with the two Scotsmen hoping to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford and Goodison Park, respectively. Ferguson took the chance to watch him in action against Dundee United back in January while Moyes was also an admirer and was hoping to bring him in as a potential replacement for Marouane Fellaini. Now United could be the big winners with the two men who so desperately wanted to sign him employed at Old Trafford. The Celtic enforcer is renowned for his hulking, intimidating physique and operates as a midfield enforcer, though he can also be deployed at centre back if necessary, with his versatility perhaps one of his best traits. United have badly lacked a tough-tackling and commanding midfielder of the ilk of Roy Keane for years and Wanyama could be just the ticket as the Reds aim to add steel to their engine room following the retirement of Paul Scholes.
